Updates to USA Shipping

Updates to USA Shipping

Since the suspension of the de minimis exemption to the USA on August 29, 2025, we have been tirelessly trying to navigate what this means for our shop and our US customers with respect to additional fees, duties and tariffs.

Due to the changes at the border, we need to change how we ship US bound orders. Going forward, all USA orders must be shipped with a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) label and every shipment will need to have insurance purchased for it.

There is good news! Due to the nature of our products and since they are Made in Canada, they certify for duty-free treatment when shipping to the USA. This means that no tariffs will be charged to our USA customers. However, there are still processing fees that come with DDP labels. As a result, all USA shipping rates will increase by $3 CAD (approx. $2.15 USD) to account for the additional processing fees. Our hope is that these rates will not change (and hopefully go down or dissipate entirely).

This is the most up to date tariff estimates we have received from our shipping courier. These fees are determined by the U.S.A administration and the customs broker our shipping courier uses. As we know, things are still unpredictable and may change without notice, which may cause us to change the shipping rates again. Our goal has always been and still remains to be as transparent as possible with our customer regarding our shipping rates and offer the cheapest rates we possibly can.

Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) means that the costs associated with shipping our products to the USA will be paid for up front, at checkout. With a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) label, the recipient will not be charged any duties, taxes, or other customs-related fees upon delivery and there are no surprise charges later on. It is more secure for us and for our customers.

Insurance covers your shipment from any loss or damage upon receipt by our shipping courier. With the uncertainties at the border and high volumes of goods moving through the border daily, this coverage ensures your package stays protected should it get lost or damaged in transit.

The additional fees which make up the shipping increase consist of: Merchandise Processing Fee (set by U.S. Customs and Border Protection), Shipment Items Fee (set by our courier), and insurance.
